Feeling Good About Fashion Whilst Staying At Home

Are you fed up of seeing a closet full of clothes that can’t be worn? We know lockdown has been a real killer to many industries but what about your own personal love for fashion? If you are anything like us you’ll have cute outfits lined up in anticipation of every season, yet summer is here and no one seems prepared. We know you might not yet feel comfortable going outside and it can be hard to feel good about fashion whilst stating at home. That’s why we’ve put together our 5 top tips to help you get out of a fashion slump.

Look at inspiration online – This might seem obvious and like something you do everyday already but you can use visual platforms such as Pinterest and Instagram to find fashion inspiration. Plus these apps both enable you to save posts (or pins) to different collections. On Instagram this can be done by saving the post to a specific collection whilst Pinterest allows you to create boards collating all the posts you choose to pin. We love doing this because it keeps you up to date with fashion trends and can also get you motivated to try out new styles, upcycle something you already own or show you different ways to wear pieces you already own.

Small businesses have been hit hard during the pandemic with many online businesses and brick and mortar stores having struggled financially to get through. Now more than ever it is important to support these businesses and show that we as consumers are not only willing to buy from large corporate companies. Some stores will now be open to shop at so you can pop in and find new bits you like. If you are not yet able or ready to leave the house for this type of activity there is plenty of option to go online and find small businesses who enable you to buy directly from them. When you support a local or small business you are supporting an individuals dream and there is nothing more rewarding than knowing you’ve made a difference to someone else’s life so why not go searching for independent and local businesses you want to share your love of fashion with.

Our next tip is all about YOU! That’s right we encourage you to get dressed up, do your hair and put makeup on even if you aren’t going anywhere. Even if you get dolled up and just potter round the house every time you catch a glimpse of your reflection you’ll feel great about the way you look which in itself is a massive confidence boost. Furthermore, having this sense of a normal routine will help you forget the difficult few months we have and instead be able to focus on the present. Taking the situation into your own hands will make you feel empowered by fashion and should hopefully motivate you to start enjoying you passion once again.

Talking about feeling empowered we know home workouts have been popular over the last few months and if it’s something you haven’t gotten into yet just give it a go. It doesn’t have to be the hardest or longest workout of your life, just spending some time on bettering yourself in a environment that is judgement free can make you feel great. If you aren’t sure where to start just pick an area of your body that you would like to improve such as your legs and search for workouts related to that- there are literally hundreds. Or you could take a look at the variety of fitness apps available on mobile and tablet, these are great and there are plenty that are free to use without the need for a monthly subscription. All the exercise will help you feel great about your body and therefore you’ll feel better in the clothes you like to wear. If you really dedicate yourself to it you could try setting fitness goals which mean you’ll be able to treat yourself to some new clothes in smaller sizes.

Finally, we wanted to share with you a little something we’re passionate about when it comes to fashion and that is feeling good in lingerie. Whether you want to treat yourself or your partner we have plenty of styles to suit your preference. It doesn’t have to be something expensive to make you feel great with bras from under £15 and briefs from under £10 you can find a style and shape that suits your budget. When it arrives you’ll have something new and exciting to wear that not only makes you feel great but also accentuates your favourite features.
